Recycling is a brilliant way to help our planet fight climate change. It’s a key part of the circular economy, helping to protect the earth’s dwindling natural resources. That’s what Global Recycling Day is all about – a day for the world to come together and put the planet first.

In March each year we focus the world’s attention on an important but often unseen climate change issue: food waste.

In 2026, Food Waste Action Week’s theme is Make Your Food Go Fuuuuuuuurther: for your pocket, for our planet.

By preventing food waste, using up leftovers, and recycling anything that can’t be eaten, we can unlock more value from the food we already have by helping it to stretch further.

World Wildlife Day is on March 3 every year to raise awareness of endangered animals and plants, and ways to fight against wildlife crime.

Despite efforts to recycle more we still have a massive problem with waste. This event explores how we can buy better and waste nothing.
